Although most businesses have a good idea of what they want, they are unsure of how to turn that vision into a functioning website that will help them achieve their goals.
To accomplish that, you need to have the answer to plenty of questions…
- What platform is best for you?
- What software licenses will you need?
- What content (text, images, videos) will need to be created?
- What legal requirements do you have to abide?
- How does the website tie-in to your existing systems and strategy?
- How will people find you?
- Who will maintain & update your website?
- How will you measure success?
Most businesses don’t have the answers to these questions — and that’s okay.
If we work together, we can translate your vision into a viable project plan that addresses all of these questions (and more!) so your project is set up for success.
This is done through a Website Workshop.
What is a Website Workshop?
The Website Workshop is where we get complete clarity on your project — what it needs to achieve, who it’s for, and how we’ll make it a success. This typically includes:
- Determining the exact functionalities, software, and integrations
- Mapping out the site structure and identifying what content you’ll need
- Exploring your ideal client and what they’ll be looking to do on your website
- Understanding any legal requirements (privacy, accessibility, etc.)
- Identifying your goals and key performance indicators (KPIs)
This helps us build a clear plan — so there are no surprises, no guessing, and no wasted effort down the road.
Once we wrap up the Website Workshop, you’ll get a detailed project scope, a realistic timeline, and an accurate price.
At that point, you can move forward with the project, or shop our blueprint around to other agencies (who will be amazed at how prepared you are!).
Do we have to do a Website Workshop?
No, we don’t have to do a Website Workshop — but I’ve done this enough times to know it’s one of the most important steps to a successful project.
Without proper planning, most projects go through multiple rounds of scope changes (which increases the costs), redoing work due to misunderstandings (which extends the timeline), and a less cohesive result (which is less likely to help you achieve your goals).
Projects that don’t undergo a Website Workshop tend to be quoted on the high end due to uncertainty and risk.
Ultimately, the choice is up to you — do you want to roll the dice or stack the deck?
How much does a Website Workshop cost?
The fee for a Website Workshop is $960. This includes a one-hour consultation, up to 4 hours of independent research, a project blueprint, timeline, and proposal. Some larger projects may require more meetings and research time at additional costs.
